I’ve eaten at many Indian restaurants, particularly in North America, and Dosa Twist is probably one of the best South Indian restaurants I’ve been to. And not just because of the food — because the owners of the restaurant make you feel like you are having a meal at the home of a family member. My father was from Mysore, and dosas were serious business in our house. The mysore dosa at Dosa Twist was crisp and cooked to perfection. Not to mention, the dosa is served with **three** chutneys, all perfectly seasoned, spiced, and tempered. The peanut chutney was my favorite, whereas my husband basically drank the coconut chutney. And, sambar snobs rejoice, the sambar is true Tamil Nadu style, which I appreciated even though I was raised on Karnataka style sambar. My husband, a true Tamilian, wanted to try two dishes that he loved growing up in Singapore: masala Vada and gobi manchurian. The masala vadas were generously sized, served with the same 3 chutneys, and were piping hot. The gobi manchurian was well balanced, not sickly sweet like many we have had in restaurants, and reminded my husband of variations of the dish he had in Chennai. The kids shared a cheese dosa, and they were thrilled. We ended our meals with a masala tea and filter coffee, and both were well balanced and served steaming hot. If you’re visiting Niagara Falls, and love South Indian food or just want to try it, definitely give Dosa Twist a try!

This South Indian restaurant serves the crispiest, most delicious dosas in the whole of Niagara Falls— thin, crispy, and served fresh with a variety of chutneys and sambar. They’ve recently added a traditional South Indian Sadhya, and each and every item was delicious. A perfect spot for anyone craving authentic Tamil or South Indian food!

Finally, a taste of home in Niagara. After 8 years in Niagara, I’ve finally found a South Indian Tamil restaurant that made me feel like I was back in Chennai. The food was incredibly authentic and reminded me of home. No south Indian restaurant in Niagara can bring such an amazing experience to your table and the authenticity cannot even be compared with any other restaurants serving tamil food. We had the banana leaf meal, and it was not just delicious but also super special because the chef himself served us, which made it feel so personal and warm. The kinda service you get in 5 star hotels in Chennai, the chef serving the meals themselves. The service overall was amazing, like being taken care of by family. Can’t thank them enough for such a comforting and nostalgic experience. I’ll definitely be coming back like I’ve been for the past couple of years!
